Ajay Sarvaiya (b.1975) is a writer and linguist working with Gujarati literature for over two decades. His 2008 publication of critical essays Borges ane Hun: Gujarati Olakh ni Shodh breaks boundaries between fiction and criticism and provides fresh frameworks and approaches to understand language, culture and art. More recently, he published a collection of poems Aam Hovun (2018). His short-story collection Fact and Fiction ane Biji Vaartaao (2010) consists of experimental fiction in the tradition of Borges, Calvino and Vila-matas. He currently teaches Linguistics at the MSU Baroda.
